US-based Tampico Beverages Inc today entered Gujarat by launching its products in the state.

The $500-million Tampico, which has presence in around 77 countries, has partnered with Indian firm Mala’s to produce and market its products in India. “Gujarat is one of the most progressive states in India and it offers huge potential for growth. Tampico intends to cover all the districts in Gujarat,” said Joanna Voller, marketing head (Asia-Pacific), Tampico Beverages.

The company’s fruit drink products are targeted at kids and the company hopes to clock sales of Rs 10 crore in 2008-09. Currently, the company has 150 distributors and it hopes to establish its presence across the country over the next three years.

Tampico has entered into an exclusive licensing arrangement with Mala’s Fruit Products. The Indian partner has two manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra.

“Apart from India, Tampico also plans to tap 10 to 12 more countries, including South America, East and South Africa,” Voller added while talking about the global plans.
