Tanla Mobile, which is into mobile application development, billing and
delivery, has been selected by UK-based independent music distributor,
Pocket Group, to deliver multi-media entertainment services across its
customer base. Tanla Mobile is the wholly-owned subsidiary of
Hyderabad-based wireless messaging solutions provider Tanla Solutions Limited.

By connecting to Tanla's carrier-grade technology platform, Pocket Group can deliver a variety of media-rich content across a broad range of 2.5 and 3G mobile devices, helping leading entertainment companies to maximise their revenues from mobile distribution. The Pocket Group will be offering content propositions across all mobile content platforms, including music, gaming and video downloads, the company stated in a press release on Monday.

The move by Pocket Group underlines the increasing growth and demand in the UK for content-rich services delivered over mobile. According to Informa Telecoms and Media, the mobile entertainment marketplace will grow from $23.1 billion in 2007 to $ 38.1 billion in 2011.
