After tasting success with its special economic zone (SEZ) in Vadodara, Pune-based integrated infrastructure solutions provider Synefra Engineering and Construction Ltd. - a Tanti Group company, now plans to expand its operations in Gujarat. The company has evinced interest in setting up an industrial park on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) section that falls in the state.

"We want to be part of the Gujarat growth story. The likes of Banco Products, Persang O.M.Metals Pvt. Ltd. and other such units have already added to the success of our Vadodara SEZ. We are now in advanced talks with the Gujarat government for industrial parks," said Sanjeev Nakhasi, corporate vice president - operations, Synefra E&C. The company will be signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard at the upcoming two-day Vibrant Gujarat 2011 Summit that begins on January 12, 2011.

"We are looking at a minimum area of 1,200-1,250 acres on the DMIC section of Gujarat for the industrial park," added Nakhasi.

According to Nakhasi, the company is yet to be alloted land by the Gujarat government. Once alloted, Synefra's expects to commission the industrial park project in 15-18 months time. In Gujarat, the company is also providing project management services to the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) for its Surat terminal. Apart from this, the company is also in talks with GSRTC for two other terminals in Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
