Tata Autocomp floats JV with Japanese firm GYIN

Tata Autocomp Systems and GS Yuasa International (GYIN) of Japan today formed a joint venture company - Tata Autocomp GY Batteries - to manufacture batteries for the automotive industry.

The 50:50 JV will manufacture batteries for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the retail market, and would have its manufacturing facility near Pune.

According to a release issued by Tata Autocomp today, "the company will start operations with the entire range of four-wheeler automotive batteries, and will set up a national-level sales, service and distribution network."
