Tata Chem Q1 net dips 22%

Tata group company Tata Chemicals today reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 107.04 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal, a 22 per cent decline from that in the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 137.38 crore for the same quarter in the last fiscal, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The consolidated total income rose to Rs 2,222.15 crore for the quarter ended June 30 of FY’09 from Rs 1,141.44 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago.

 

On standalone basis, Tata Chemicals announced a profit after tax of Rs 58.67 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, a 51 per cent decline from that in the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a standalone profit after tax of Rs 121.16 crore for the same quarter previous fiscal, the filing added. The standalone total income rose to Rs 1,236.97 crore for the June quarter, from Rs 681 crore for the same period a year ago.

Great Offshore’s PAT dips 78%

Offshore oilfield services firm Great Offshore on Wednesday announced a net profit of Rs 12 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008 a 78 per cent decline over the corresponding period a year ago.

The firm had reported a net profit of Rs 56 crore in the April-June quarter last fiscal year, Great Offshore said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange. Great Offshore’s total income rose to Rs 203.54 crore from Rs 153.29 crore in the year-ago period.

Tulip Telecom Q1 net up at Rs 46 cr

Tulip Telecom on Wednesday announced a net profit of Rs 45.96 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, up by 61.03 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 28.54 crore in Q1 of FY’08, Tulip Telecom said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total revenue of the firm rose 56 per cent at Rs 334.61 crore in the April-June quarter, against Rs 214.53 crore over the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
