The Euro 15-million plant, the first of its kind in the Netherlands, takes the company's global production of sodium bicarbonate to 2,00,000 tonnes per year, a press release issued here said.
Full process stabilisation and optimisation is in progress, the release said. The automated plant uses surplus carbon dioxide from the soda ash plant as one of its raw materials, the release said.
"The additional capacities will allow us to reach a wide range of sectors and applications. This move is in line with our strategy of building a global scale sodium bicarbonate business," Tata Chemical's EVP and Head, Global Chemicals Business, R Mukundan, said.
