Tata Global Beverages to acquire Dhunseri's packet tea biz for Rs 101 cr

Dhunseri's two brands Lalghora and Kalaghora together make up 5% of the total banded tea market and are market leaders in Rajasthan

Tata Global Beverages Ltd (TGBL) has entered into an agreement to buy the packet tea business of Dhunseri Tea and Industries for Rs 101 crore after the latter decided to quit the branded tea business and focus on strengthening its plantations business in Africa instead.

On Tuesday, Dhunseri entered into a non-binding term sheet to sell the branded tea business presently undertaken under the brands Lalghora and Kalaghora. These two brands together make up five per cent of the total banded tea market and are market leaders in Rajasthan.
