Tata Int'l launches 'Neotel' in J'burg

Mukul Sharma, Executive Head of Neotel's consumer business unit, announced in Johannesburg that the NeoConnect packages were built around a handset that plugged into a computer and served as a telephone as well as a wireless internet access point.

He said although the handset could be used purely as a cordless phone for anyone who did not want internet access, the monthly fee would not be economical for only making voice calls.

 

"It isn't attractive for someone who doesn't want data", Sharma said, adding "we are also looking at whether we should have voice
