Tata Metaliks today said it has lowered its July-September quarter loss to Rs 16.29 crore compared to Rs 51.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income of the company, however, came down to Rs 213.77 crore from Rs 344.58 crore during the second quarter of the last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
Expenses for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 234.56 crore, higher than its total income -- resulting in losses for the pig iron maker.
Tata Metaliks shares today settled at Rs 66.10 apiece at the BSE, up 0.92 per cent over their previous closing.
