Tata Motors' machine tools subsidiary TAL Manufacturing Solutions today said it has expanded its portfolio by adding three new products.

These machines, Horizontal Machining Centre (H-500 Plus), Vertical Machining Center (V- 800 Plus) and Vertical Turning Centre (MTV B-500), have been indigenously developed by TAL, it said in a statement.

The company will introduce more such tools in partnership with Germany-based Heller, it said.

A machine tool is a powered mechanical device typically used to fabricate metal components of machines.

The Tata Group firm has set up a number of similar product lines in the country in partnership with Heller for a number of automotive and precision engineering manufacturing companies.

"TAL has developed a number of machining solutions, harnessing learning from both the Tata Motors' experience as well as collaborative knowledge through its global partners," TAL Chairman Ravi Kant said.

Apart from the automotive sector, these machines will serve a variety of applications in industries like energy, defence, aerospace, and other precision engineering requirements, it said.

The tools will be ideal for machining materials from light special aluminium alloys to special steels and Titanium for manufacture of precision components covering automotive to aerospace applications.
