Tata Motors declares day off at Jamshedpur plant

 Over 2,000 workers, who were unaware about the management's announcement, turned up for work today morning but went back as the main entrance gate was locked.

 The management and the union failed to agree on the payment of bonus based on production and net profit for the year 2004-05 even after four days of negotiations.

 In a mass meeting of Telco Workers Union held here yesterday, the INTUC-affiliated union had unanimously decided to go for a one day tool-down strike to mount pressure on the management on the bonus issue.
