Tata Motors global sales grow 39% in March

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors today said its global sales increased by 39 per cent in March to 1,01,712 units on robust demand for both commercial and passenger vehicles. The company also reported an increase of 19 per cent in its global sales during 2009-10 at 8,72,951 units compared to the previous year, Tata Motors said in a statement.

In March, the global sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) were at 23,538 units, up 43 per cent over the same month last year, it added.

Jaguar sales for the month were at 4,642 units, an increase of eight per cent over March 2009, while Land Rover sales went up by 55 per cent during the month to 18,896 units.

 

The total passenger vehicles sales stood at 53,776 units in March 2010, growth of 28 per cent from the corresponding month last year, it said.

Commercial vehicle sales were also up 53 per cent at 47,936 units from the same month last year, it added.
