Tata Motors today said its global sales increased by 19 per cent in September, to 86,996 units on robust demand for both commercial and passenger vehicles.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 19,528 units during September, up 16 per cent from the same month last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.
While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand jumped by 10 per cent last month to 4,861 units, Land Rover sales were higher by 19 per cent at 14,667 units, it added.
It said the total passenger vehicles sales stood at 46,035 units in September 2010, a growth of 21 per cent from the corresponding month last year.
Commercial vehicles sales were also up by 18 per cent to 40,961 units from the same month last year, it added.
The Tata Motors Group global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with the distributed brands in India, Jaguar and Land Rover.
During the April-September period, total vehicle sales rose 38 per cent at 5,11,934 units.
While total passenger vehicle sales increased by 43 per cent at 278,361 units, commercial vehicle sales jumped 32 per cent at 233,573 units in the first five-months of this fiscal.
