Tata Motors, in a release issued to the BSE today, today announced the acquisition of CEDIS Mechanical Engineering GmbH, a Stuttgart, Germany-based provider of automotive engineering and design services.

"This expands the presence of INCAT in Germany, and in Europe overall, with proven competencies in engineering and design as well as in CATIA support," Wolfgang Zoefgen, MD (European Operations) of INCAT, said.

"This acquisition - as well as the company's 2005 acquisition of Rand France S.A - diversifies the INCAT client base, and positions INCAT to widen its PLM consulting and support services offerings," he added.

The CEDIS executive team of Markus Schleer and Ralf Weber will join the INCAT European operations in senior management positions. While Schleer will continue to serve as the MD of CEDIS and head of design at INCAT, Weber will join the INCAT GmbH management team, the release added.

"The top CEDIS clients include Johnson Controls, DaimlerChrysler, MAHLE, Modine Europe, Eberspacher, ORIS, Lear Corporation, Mercedes AMG, Alpine Electronics and BOS," the release said.
