Tata Motors launches Nano CNG at Rs 2.52 lakh

Tata Motors, India's biggest automobile company, today announced the launch of the compressed natural gas (CNG) version of the Nano at Rs 2.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Tata Nano CNG emax is powered by a fuel efficient engine, with CNG and Petrol bi-fuel system options. The car has gives a claimed mileage of 36 km/kg as per ARAI standard test conditions.

The mini car will now be available across CNG markets like Delhi, Gujarat, parts of Maharashtra and Lucknow.
 
Ankush Arora, senior vice president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (Commercial), Tata Motors, said, From its inception, the Nano has been a path-breaking invention and the CNG version only adds to that and also underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player."

The sequential gas injection system of the Tata Nano CNG emax, is calibrated with an intelligent advanced Engine Management System (EMS) for smart switching between CNG and Gasoline fuel systems.

This allows the vehicle to sense when the driver needs more power and thus, automatically shifts to gasoline mode. Switching between CNG and petrol driving modes on-the-fly becomes effortless due to a push-button fuel type selector.

Additionally, the Tata Nano CNG emax can also be started on CNG and not on petrol like other conventional CNG systems. The car comes with improved lowest CO2 emission of 75.6 g/km.

With the CNG technology, the Nano CNG emax offers a touring range of more than 150 km (in CNG), in addition to the existing touring range of 375 km (in petrol). Combined mileage of the car is 525 kms.
 
While the Nano CX CNG variant is priced at Rs 2.52 Lakhs for the Nano LX variant the price goes upto Rs 2.77 Lakhs, ex-showroom – Mumbai.
