Tata Motors roll out its Prima range in Lanka

Company is in association with its local partner Diesel & Motor Engineering to meet the increasing demand for such vehicles in the island market

Domestic commercial vehicles leader Tata Motors today said it has rolled out its Prima range of commercial vehicles in Sri Lanka in association with its local partner Diesel & Motor Engineering to meet the increasing demand for such vehicles in the island market.

Diesel & Motor Engineering, a leading engineering companies in Sri Lanka, caters to brands such as Bosch, Skil, Blaupunkt, and Fischer, Mercedes-Benz, Komatsu, Michelin, Osram, Siemens and Tata among others.

The Tata Prima range comprises tractor-trailers, tippers, and special application vehicles which can meet varied end user requirements.

"The revamped infrastructure in Sri Lanka makes it possible for transporters to reap the benefit of the Prima trucks. The introduction of the new range will meet the changing needs in the Lankan market," Tata Motors executive director, commercial vehicles business unit, Ravindra Pisharody said.
 

The Prima has been jointly developed by Tata Motors and its two subsidiaries-Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company, South Korea and the Tata Motors European Technical Centre of Britain.
