Tata Motors sales rise 23 per cent in January

Tata Motors has reported a 22.5 per cent growth in its January 2005 sales at 39,000 units against 31,840 vehicles in January 2004.
 
Commercial vehicles sales stood at 17,003 units in January 2005, a growth of 17.5 per cent over January 2004 sales.
 
Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales in January 2005 were 11,579 units, a growth of 20 per cent over 9,666 vehicles sold in January 2004. Light CV sales in January 2005 were 5,424 units, a growth of 13 per cent over 4,808 units sold in January last year.
 
Tata Motors achieved its highest ever domestic passenger vehicle sales of 18,054 units in January 2005 surpassing its previous best of 16,332 cars achieved in October 2004.
 
Passenger vehicle sales in January 2005 grew by 23 per cent over January 2004. Cumulative sales in the first ten months of this fiscal at 143050 units has crossed the full year sales of 140,018 nos. in the previous fiscal.
 
Indica sales registered a growth of 32 per cent at 10,650 units while Indigo sales grew by 11 per cent at 3342 units.
 
Tata Motors' exports during the month was up 48 per cent at 3,943 units against 2,668 units sold in January 2004.
 
Sales for April to January 2005 stood at 3,18,156 units against 2,48,744 vehicles sold in the same period last year, representing a growth of 28 per cent
