Tata Motors' sales up 22%

Tata Motors reported total sales of 45,114 vehicles (including exports) for February 2006, a 22 per cent growth over 36,977 vehicles sold in the corresponding period in the previous year.
 
Commercial vehicles reported sales of 22,885 units for the domestic market in February, a 30 per cent growth over 17,656 vehicles sold, a year ago.
 
The sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) stood at 13,662 units, while that of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) sales was 9,223 units.
 
Passenger vehicle sales grew by 12.1 per cent to 17,972 vehicles in February over the previous corresponding period. Indica registered sales of 10,548 units, a 15.3 per cent growth over the previous corresponding period.
 
The Indigo family registered sales of 3,653 units, a growth of 3.8 per cent over February 2005. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 3, 771 units registering a growth of 12.2 per cent over February 2005.
 
Tata Motors' exports grew by 29.4 per cent to 4,257 vehicles in February against 3,290 vehicles a year ago.
