Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is considering a major expansion plan at its UK factory which could create as many as 1,000 jobs. The company has singled out its Halewood factory in Merseyside, Northwest England, for the latest investment injection as a result of rising demand for the Range Rover Evoque, as well as a rollout of new models.
JLR Chief Executive Ralf Speth plans to launch 40 new models in the next five years and aims to double car sales to 750,000 by 2015. According to The Sunday Times report, it is believed the company is also eyeing plans to expand its Solihull factory in West Midlands to cope with new Jaguar launches.
