Tata Motors and Italy-based Fiat group today entered into an agreement to co-operate on dealer network sharing, which encompasses the sale of Fiat cars through select Tata Motors outlets throughout India.

Tata Motors will manage the marketing and distribution of Fiat cars in India, officials said today.

Speaking on the occasion, Tata group chairman Ratan Tata said the agreement will see the two companies explore "enormous opportunities".

Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat, said the agreement enables the company to increase customer base in the country. "Today's agreement is the first step and recognition of the fact that we need to do work in this market. It is quite possible that this will deepen further," he added.
