India's largest private sector power company, Tata Power Company is planning to add 3,000 mw and is eyeing investment opportunities in South Africa and Bangladesh. |
"We are are looking at an investment plan of 3,000 mw and are also looking at investment opportunities overseas. We believe there are opportunities in South Africa and Bangladesh," group Chairman Ratan N Tata, who is also the chairman of Tata Power Company, said at the annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday. |
Meanwhile, Tata Power has secured an order of $38 million for a transmission project in Bangladesh in collaboration with PowerGrid Corporation, Bangladesh. |
The proceedings were marred when two minority shareholders demanded an adjournment as they had not received the annual report on time. |
