Tata Steel Ltd has emerged as the regional champion in the 8th Virtual Steel Making Challenge 2013-14 organized by World Steel Association, the company said in a release today.
The steel maker has bagged all top 10 positions at the regional rounds and will have its team playing at the finals in February at Brussals in Belgium.
Since 2005, the World Steel Association organizes a Virtual Steelmaking International Challenge annually using one or more of the processing simulations available on its website.
Participants in the challenge compete to produce a new grade of steel specially designed for the event.
