Tata Steel Q2 net flat at Rs 1139cr

Tata Steel today reported a 2.5% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,139.11 crore for the second quarter ended September 2006, when compared with Rs 1,111.32 crore for Q2FY06.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, total income grew by 18.33% at Rs 6176.42 crore as compared to Rs 5219.64 crore in Q2FY06.

On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 1101.49 for Q2FY07 from Rs 1045.42 crore in Q2FY06. The total income stood at Rs 4362.98 crore from Rs 4003.21 crore in Q2FY06.
