Tata Tea, the second-largest branded packaged one in the sector, today announced restructuring of its global operations under a single management team, as it plans to become a leader in the $160 billion ‘good for you’ beverages market.
R Krishna Kumar, currently vice-chairman, and on the Tata Sons’ board, will be responsible for stewarding the group. The management team, based in London, comprises Peter Unsworth, CEO, Tetley Group; Percy Siganporia, MD, Tata Tea and chairman of Mount Everest Mineral Water; Hamid Ashraff, MD, Tata Coffee; L K Krishnakumar, chief finance officer; John Nicholas, chief marketing officer, and Nalin Miglani, chief human resources and communications officer.
This team will oversee the global beverage business, reorganised into six regions, each under a regional president. While Nigel Holland will head UK and Africa, Garry Nield will do so for Europe and West Asia, Barbara Roth in the US and Steve Rice looks after Canada and South America. Sangeeta Talwar will head South Asia and Pradeep Poddar the Asia Pacific.
