Tata Teleservices, which is acquiring a controlling stake in Hughes Tele.com India, the basic telecom service provider in Maharashtra, will kick off basic operations in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka circles in the next 3-4 months.
In these circles, key managers and staff are in place, while network design and planning have been completed for first year roll out. Vendors have been finalised for wireline and wireless (code division multiple access), transmission and microwave products.
The company is also planning to begin operations in Punjab, Haryana and Kerala circles once the regulations on interconnection are in place.
