Tata Trusts has increased focus on technology-led transformative efforts after the success of the Aadhaar-enabled fertiliser distribution system, an innovative pilot in the supply chain developed in collaboration with the Andhra government. This is being rolled out in phases across India.

“The system has demonstrated significant potential to streamline operations of fertiliser retailers, improve experience of purchasers, and tracking the flow of fertilisers from manufacturers to end-users,” said a spokesperson. “It ensures all sales are bona fide, thereby reducing the government’s subsidy burden.
