India's largest information technology services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), says it is expanding operations in Britain. A new facility at Liverpool is to be fully operational in July, with about 300 employees.
The new centre is to deliver government services requiring what is known as 'Impact Level 3 (IL3)' security constraints. TCS plans to use the facility to deliver services to the Home Office, following a multi-million, multi-year contract awarded in November 2012, to manage the technology needs and support services of the UK government's new Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
MMRDA, Transport for London ink MoU
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Transport for London signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an underground metro system in Mumbai. Of the proposed 146-km metro network in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, MMRDA plans to construct 33 km underground.
Also, Ashok Leyland has proposed to set up a research and development centre at Warwickshire. The InterContinental Hotel Group plans to build 13 new hotels over the next few years in India.
