Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (TDCCOL), the apex co-operative organization for sale and purchase of tribal products in Odisha, will procure products manufactured by Navjeevan Co-operative Ltd formed by members of families displaced by Tata Steel's six million tonne greenfield steel plant at Kalinganagar.

The products procured from Navjeevan Co-operative Ltd (NCL) on a monthly basis will be sold through various outlets of TDCCOL located across the state.

The items to be procured from Navjeevan include T-Shirts with Saura painting, wall hangings with Saura painting (without frame), Chanderi silk dupattas, silk angvastras with Saura paintings, file folders with Saura painting, greeting cards, pen stand, paper weights and bookmarks, among other items.

The development will provide a fillip to the sustainable livelihood initiatives taken by the members of the co-operative who hail mostly from tribal communities. It may be noted that Fabindia, Tribes India, an organization under the Union ministry of tribal affairs and Delhi Crafts Council, are among the buyers that have evinced interest to procure products from NCL. The co-operative generated a turnover of about Rs 42 lakh last year.
