IT major Tech Mahindra today launched its mobile job search platform ‘Saral Rozgar’ in Uttar Pradesh.

The low-cost mobile consumer service is aimed at creating an organised, common pool of jobs and job providers in India.

The platform has already clocked registration of about a million job seekers across India in the past one year, Tech Mahindra, vice president, Vivek Chandok said here.

It also has on board over 5,000 employers located in 800 cities.

The company has tied up with three cell phone service providers viz.Airtel, Uninor and Tata for rolling out the service. Job seekers can access the service through a voice call from their mobile phone by dialing a number. Thereby, they are registered and later get job updates on their mobile phones through SMS and voice calls.

A job seeker subscribes to the ‘Saral Rozgar’ service for a monthly fee of Rs 30, while the job providers could choose a customised package ranging from Rs 500 to almost Rs one lakh.

There are over 300 million semi-skilled and unskilled workers in the unorganised and semi-organised sector in India. This sector is mainly operated by job agents and local agencies.

The company is looking at various industrial hubs in UP spread over Kanpur, Moradabad, Agra etc for collaborating with job providers in the small and medium enterprises segment.

'We would basically be catering job seekers with educational qualification below graduate level,' he informed.

Meanwhile, the company plans to increase the bouquet of ‘Saral’ to include health, education, etc in future as the concept develops. 'We want to develop the ‘Saral’ concept as a sustainable business model,' he added.
