As it looks to promote app to app calling, Reliance Communications (RCom) has come out with a promotional plan for 30 days wherein the company is offering 300 minutes of internet calls for Rs 1. The offer is currently available for customers in National Capital Region, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat whereas next week, it will be launched in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The company  will credit 7 MB of data into customers’ accounts everyday that can be used to make 10 calls.

So in a month, 300 calls can be made if customers use the data to make calls alone.

Rcom CEO (Consumer Business) Gurdeep Singh though said that this is a data pack and customers can use it for any purpose like download and upload. “In that case, the calls will reduce proportionately,” he added.

He further said the plan does not violate Trai ruling banning differential tariffs for data usage as the consumers are free to use it for download and uploads.

“It is new way for calling, we want to change consumer habit as it is our job,” Singh added.

The apps will include the likes of WhatsApp, FB Messenger, Skype, Google Hangout and Viber. RCom's 4G LTE network operates in the 850 MHz spectrum band.
