According to the survey, as many as 74% of the respondents said they have increased the number of IT services vendors they use over the past five years, while 26% said their number of vendor agreements has doubled during this period.
"Every three out of four service providers have increased the number of their IT services vendors over the past five years," Amdocs said in a release.
"There is a growing need for prime service integrators that service providers can rely on to take full accountability over the entire, multi-vendor structure in order to reduce risk and allow service providers to focus on their business, rather than deal with the increasing complexities of the IT environment."
Additionally, the survey showed that like in several other industry segments, there is an increased adoption of new technologies like cloud computing and big data analytics by the telcos.
Most of the Indian IT services companies are now focusing on these new technologies and investing heavily to create capabilities around them, due to increased client interest.
The survey also said that service providers remain focused on minimising business risks and reducing deal complexities.
