Telecom operators in the state have lined up slew of exciting offers for their customers keeping an eye on the ensuing Rath Yatra at Puri.
To rev up sales, telecom providers will be offering full talk time and other value added services.
“Like previous years, this year too, we have introduced a service “Rath Yatra Special Portal” a special value added services (VAS) for our GSM and CDMA customers,” said Pravir Kumar, Operation Head, Tata Teleservices, Odisha Circle.
He said, the customers can avail this service by dialing 54321149@ five paise per second and enjoy the content. This content includes special songs on Rath Yatra, call me tunes and interesting trivia on Lord Jagannath, making of the Rath (chariot) and rituals of Rath Yatra.
The service, which was launched yesterday, will be valid till 29 June, the day the chariots of deities will return to Jagannath temple from their aunt’s house. The other value added feature of this special service is information on Rath Yatra across the world and useful tips for tourists visiting the festival.
The state run telecom service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), having a customer base of more than 40 lakh in the state, for the first time has launched Roam Free magic voucher on the eve of the festival. The BSNL customers will not have to pay any roaming charges within the country on recharge of Rs 50, valid for 30 days.
Besides, it has introduced full talk time offers for Raja Festival, a four day long festival celebrated at the onset of monsoons.

“To provide additional talk time to our customers, BSNL has introduced full talk time offer on paper recharge of Rs 110 and easy recharge of Rs 200. The offer is valid upto 30th June,” said a BSNL official.
Bharti Airtel, India's largest mobile operator has joined the other telecom companies in giving freebies to its customers with introduction of “Airtel Utsav Talktime Offer”
On recharge of Rs 125, consumers can avail talk time of Rs 120 till the end of this month starting from on Thursday and for three days during this festive period, the customers will get full talk time of Rs 130 on recharge of Rs 130, said Keerti Nath Tripathy, Marketing Manager, Odisha.
The Rath Yatra (Car Festival) will be held between June 21 and 29 commemorating the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balarama and their sister Subhadra to their aunt's temple in Puri.
