The Bombay Store comes to Hyd

The Bombay Store, a contemporary lifestyle store for Indian collections, on Thursday launched its outlet at Hyderabad, the fifth in the country. The store specialises in products of Indian origin in apparel, fashion accessories, home accessories, home furnishings and personal care.
 
Speaking to the media, Asim Dalal, managing director, The Bombay Store, said, "We have plans to further expand operations to more cities, especially in the west and south, and intend to project 'The Bombay Store' as a brand at the forefront of retailing in India."
 
The Bombay Store currently has outlets at Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore and intends to open another store in the coming months in Gujarat.
 
The outlet in Hyderabad has been set up on the franchisee business model at a cost of Rs 80 lakh, with revenue sharing of 31:69 per cent between the franchisee and the company.
 
The Bombay Store in return would provide services ranging from logistics to merchandise to advertising. The store would be open throughout the year and cater to tourists as well as to the local customers and would have on offer a mixed merchandise, Dalal said.
 
The Bombay Store made a turnover of Rs 24 crore last fiscal and the one in Hyderabad plans to achieve a turnover of at least Rs 2 crore in the coming year. With a century of history at its back, The Bombay Store as a brand came alive when The Bombay Swadeshi Store, established in Mumbai in 1906, was rechristened in 1995.
