The Gateway plans 10 new hotels

Tata group’s hotel ventures arm Indian Hotels Company Limited’s (IHCL) subsidiary The Gateway Hotels and Resorts is planning to start 10 new hotels across the country in the next two years.

Out of the total 10 brand new hotels planned, the company expects to begin operations of 3 new hotels by the end of the current fiscal.

Presently, the Gateway operates around 22 hotels across the country which are legacy properties.

The 10 new hotels are part of the company’s 20 new hotels which are under construction. The new hotels which are coming up in smaller cities like Hubli, Tirupati, Gangtok, Himalayas among others would have a room capacity of about 150-175 rooms per hotel. However

 

The Gateway Hotels & Resorts, chief operating officer, PK Mohankumar, did not disclose the investment the company is making for the new hotel projects.

The group is also planning to start hotels at around 100 locations that have airport connectivity.

The company official said it would follow a trinity model wherein the asset owner, brand manager and the the parent company (IHCL) would be the stakeholders.
