Thermax bags 3 power plant orders

 The total generating capacity of the three plants is 108 MW, fetching Thermax a revenue of Rs 345 crore. A company spokesperson said the plant in Tamil Nadu is for a leading caustic soda manufacturer to set up two 25MW cogeneration plant, the order value being Rs 140 crore.

 The second, a 40MW independent power project, is  being developed by a leading power utility company from Kolkata.

 The fuel used is washery rejects generated from coal washery and developed by the utility. The fuel is combusted in a specially designed boiler. The order value is approximately Rs 150 crore. The company expects many more orders using this fuel.

 The third order is a repeat one,  from a leading cement manufacturer in South India for an additional unit of 18 MW to be set up in Andhra Pradesh.

 The spokesperson however did not disclose the names of the clients. He however said the completion of these projects would take between 6 and 24 months.
