Aspiring entrepreneurs in India now have a chance to get business lessons from topnotch entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley such as Sabeer Bhatia, Kanwal Rekhi, B V Jagdish, thanks to The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). |
During the recently concluded TiECon 2004, a three-day meet of its members, TiE has decided to set up a mentoring clinic in India on the lines of its existing clinic in the US. |
The Indian entrepreneurs do not need to go to a US university or to the Silicon Valley, as the training and sessions would be conducted remotely using video conferencing and Internet. |
This centre will offer training on various business models, ways to work out a business strategy as well as ways to attract funding. |
"We have realised that if the experience of the top Indian businessmen in the US can be imparted to India's aspiring entrepreneurs, we can help them set up some of the world class companies. India has a large number of such entrepreneurs," said Saurabh Srivastava, one of the founding members of TiE. |
TiE expects that the mentoring clinic, which will be a virtual forum, will help set up a larger network of Indian entrepreneurs. |
Besides, such an initiative would also ensure constant interaction which is not otherwise possible. |
"One of the main reasons for the Indian entrepreneurs being successful in the Silicon Valley was training and exposure to the varied business conditions. We expect that this remote training forum will help replicate that in India," Srivastava said. |
