The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), an entrepreneurship-fostering forum, has launched the TiE Institute in Bangalore to accelerate the growth of entrepreneurship.

According to a statement from TiE Bangalore, the workshops and courses offered by the TiE Institute are designed to provide immediate and practical value to budding entrepreneurs by allowing them to take away ideas they can implement in their ventures.

The TiE Institute, Bangalore, is modelled on the lines of the TiE Institute in Silicon Valley which started about four years ago.

Its vision is to be the "Entrepreneur's University", offering practical training in soft and hard skills, delivered by a world-class faculty drawn from TiE Charter Members around the globe, and their networks cultivated over the years.

The institute is committed to developing more holistic, value-centered business leaders through concrete and interactive education, which is entrepreneurial in spirit, ethical in focus and global in orientation.

Commenting on the TiE Institute, Pradeep Kar, President of TiE Bangalore Chapter, and CEO of Microland said, "The TiE-Institute competently fills a critical gap in the entrepreneurial eco-system in Bangalore. Bangalore is presently the crucible for entrepreneurship in India and TiE members will stand to benefit tremendously from the practical experience of workshop leaders."

TiE Institute has a well-evolved framework along two dimensions (personal to organisational) & (early to later stage) that allows an entrepreneur to pick a relevant topic, learn, refresh or evolve his thinking in developing his organisation.

"Entrepreneurship is moving rapidly in India and in this part of the world. TiE- Bangalore has taken the initiative to launch experiential learning methodology of TiE Institute to accelerate the maturation of entrepreneurship ecosystem, in Bangalore and the surrounding chapters," said Sridhar Mitta, a member of the Global Board of Trustees of TiE.

A typical workshop would last an evening (3 hours).

The first segment is introduction of the topic; the second is an in-depth presentation/discussion with a panel of expert(s) comprising both TiE Charter members and reputed people in the industry and educational institutions. The last segment is a case study-based discussion to help the attendees understand the subject better. "These workshops will greatly benefit first-time entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs who are looking to take their companies to the next level and entrepreneurs leading innovations within large corporations. And this is across all sectors, tech and non-tech." said Ravi Narayan, Director of TiE-Institute, Bangalore.
