TimeTooth Technologies is looking to tap more opportunities in defence and aviation segments as it rides high on the successful flight of a DRDO's unmanned aerial vehicle which used the company's landing gear.

The engineering technology firm designed and developed the landing gear for Rustom II programme's medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle.

Recently, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted its first flight.

TimeTooth Technologies' Director Girish Mudgal said the company expects to partner with the TAPAS 201 (RUSTOM -II) programme to develop more advanced landing gears such as retractable version further optimised for weight.

"We have landed another contract for another UAV landing gear," he told PTI without divulging specific details.

Based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, TimeTooth has two major business lines — engineering services/ consulting and special purpose product developments.

According to Mudgal, TimeTooth is not a UAV company but also invests in product and technologies which are complex in terms of engineering and performance requirements.

"Actually, defence has ended up as being a larger part of our market share," he said, adding that the company has also been associated with other sectors, including power.
