Titan enters plastic watch segment

Eyeing the plastic watch segment in India that is growing at 20 per  cent rate, Sonata the watch brand from Titan industries, has announced their foray into plastic watch segment by rolling out the Super Fibre watches aimed at Youth segment.  

Rajat Dhir, Area Sales Manager, Titan Industries Limited, said the plastic watch market in India estimated to be worth 70-80 lakh units is mainly dominated by unbranded and regional brands. By entering the plastic watch segment the company was looking to sell 10 lakh units by end of the fiscal year 2009-10.

The new super fibre watches launched by Titan industries has been priced between Rs 275- Rs 550.The super fibre watches comprise of total 68 different designs and come in both digital and analog variants.

 

The super fibre watches would be marketed through strong retail network of over 12,000 dealers spread across 2500 cities in India.

Commenting on the Titan Eye + stores, Dhir maintained the company was looking to open 50 Titan Eye+ stores by this fiscal end, with one eye store likely to be opened in Chandigarh also.
