Titan plans 12 new stores in Western India

Titan Industries Ltd (TIL), the major producer and retailer of watches and jewellery industry, is planning to open 12 new stores of its ‘World of Titan’ retail chain of outlets in Western region of the country in the current fiscal year (FY 2009-10).

The Watch Division of the company has set the sales target of Rs. 98 crore from western region of the country for the current FY 2009-10. The western region includes three states- Maharashtra, Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh (MP).

Presently, the company has 274 stores of ‘World of Titan’ spread over 122 cities across the country. In organized domestic market, the Watch Division of Titan Industry has 72 per cent market share.

 

“We are planning to open 12 new stores of the ‘World of Titan’ in western region of the country in the current FY 2009-10. Out of these 12 stores, 3 stores will be opened in Mumbai and one each in Pune, Nashik, Jabalpur and Amrawati,” the senior company official, who didn’t want to be identified, told Business Standard.

Titan products include over 1,200 watches from Titan, Nebula, Rega, Sonata, Fastrack, Tommy Hilfiger and Xylys.
