Despite the economic slowdown, Titan Industries, the leading producer and retailer of watches and jewellery in the country, has set a target to increase the sale of its “Titan” brand of watches by 25 percent in Orissa in the next fiscal.
The Orissa sales target of the company was Rs 12 crore in the current fiscal and the same is likely to go up to Rs 15 crore in 2009-10. “We hope to achieve a sales growth of 15 percent in Orissa during 2008-09 and 25 percent in the next financial year ”, D Nagendra Prasad, Area Sales Manager -Titan (Orissa &Chhatishgarh) said.
During the first three quarters, the growth in sales in Orissa market was about 15 to 16 percent, which is higher than the national growth of 14 percent during the same period.
He said, the test marketing of the ‘Kids’ range has started and it will be launched in the state by February or March.
The company plans to open an exclusive ‘World of Titan’ showroom at Berehampur in south Orissa by June this year.
