Chennai-based Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers (TNPL) has reported a 4 per cent increase net profit in the first-quarter ended June 30, 2008 at Rs 24.6 crore from Rs 23.73 crore in the comparable quarter last year.
The total income for this quarter grew by 16 per cent at Rs 255 crore from Rs 219.11 crore in the first quarter last year.
The production during the quarter increased to 62,511 tonnes as against 56,780 tonnes in the same quarter last year.
