TNT delivers sweet offer

TNT, the express delivery company, has launched a special service that should help sweeten and strengthen business and personal relationships across the seas.

TNT Mango Bytes, the special service, allows one to send Alphonso mangoes of premium quality across international borders to business partners, associates and friends living abroad.

The service is available to 35 countries. TNT procures, packs and ships the mangoes in packs that have been designed to keep them fresh, said TNT sources.

TNT will bear the cost of the mangoes and will bill the sender only for shipping them.

The shipping charges to Britain, for instance, for a box of a dozen mangoes is Rs 2,700, while for shipping the same quantity to Canada is Rs 2,800. The corresponding rates for sending two dozen mangoes on the other hand is Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,400.

What about US, a very important business destination? US's regulation on import of foodstuffs ensures that the service is not available to US.
