Toonz ties up with Times Multimedia

Toonz Animation India, a Thiruvanathapuram-based animation studio, has entered into a licence agreement for the distribution of VCDs and DVDs of the cartoon series The Adventures of Tenali Raman.

Times Multimedia general manager Partho Dasgupta said, "We at Times Multimedia have been providing quality entertainment in the electronic home entertainment space. We realise today more and more parents want their children to be exposed to rich content with an Indian flavour, and this product line is just another step in that direction."

Times Multimedia will market the VCDs and DVDs of the cartoon series developed by Toonz throughout the country through its retail networks, he added.

According to Toonz Animation chief operating officer Jayakumar, after Tenali Raman became a hit on television, there is a demand in the market for VCDs and DVDs of the series.

This is what prompted Toonz and Times Multimedia to join hands and take the lead in providing VCDs and DVDs, which have a longer shelf life, thereby providing extended entertainment to children and adults alike, he added.
