Torrent Pharma, Novo Nordisk ink deal

Torrent Pharma today signed an agreement with the Indian arm of the Denmark-based Novo Nordisk to establish a new, dedicated formulation and packaging faclity for insulin exclusively for Novo Nordisk.

The new, state-of-the-art facility will have the requisite flexibility to expand, and will be set up at Torrent's existing manufacturing facility at Indrad, Gujarat.

"The agreement consolidates Torrent's partnership with Novo Nordisk given that Torrent has been manufacturing and supplying insulin formulations to Novo Nordisk for over a decade now," a release said.

The formulation at Torrent's plant will be done with the same state-of-the-art technology and quality standards as practised across the world by Novo Nordisk, the release added.
