Ahmedabad-based diversified power generation company, Torrent Power Ltd has registered a net profit of Rs 348.71 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 against Rs 304.41 crore in the corresponding period last year, showing a year-on-year growth of 14.5 per cent.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) the company informed that total income has increased from Rs 1,843.86 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 to Rs 2,089.04 crore for the quarter under review this year.
On consolidated basis, the group has registered a net profit of Rs 343.57 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 299.24 crore for the same quarter last year. The total income for the group has increased from Rs 1,839.62 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 to Rs 2,098.15 for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, the company statement said.
The company announced a normal annual dividend of Rs 3, a special dividend of Rs 2.50 per share, aggregating to Rs 5.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the fiscal 2010-11.
