According to new plans, Touchtel will charge Rs 1.99 per minute on STD calls made to any cellular phone. This is 44.72 per cent cheaper than Rs 3.60 per minute being charged by other telecom operators.
Now a call to Delhi will cost Rs 3.99 per minute against Rs 4.80 per minute.
Calls in the 200-500 km band will cost Rs 2.99 per minute against Rs 4.8 per minute charged earlier.
A call within the state will cost Rs 1.99 per minute.
STD calls in the 100 km radius in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will cost 99 paise per minute compared to Rs 1.21 per minute.
Touchtel is also offering Rs 60 worth of free calls under the classic plan.
The new rates will be effective for consumers in Bhopal and Indore from November 1, 2003, and Raipur, Gwalior and Jabalpur from the current billing cycle.
