Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) achieved cumulative sales of 5,600 units of Toyota vehicles, led by Toyota Innova and Corolla, in June 2005, up by 36% over the corresponding period last year. Toyota Innova sold 4,633 units in June 2005, higher by 48% to Qualis, which sold 3,112 units in the corresponding period last year, a company statement said. "Toyota sales account for 43% of the total multi purpose vehicles (MPV) sold in June 2005", according to Atsushi Toyoshima, managing director of TKM. The launch of Toyota Innova has attracted MPV buyer as well as Sedan buyers, he said in the statement. Corolla, registering total sales of 901 units in June 2005 "continues to be the bestseller in the segment", Toyoshima said, adding the company has sold 5,000 corollas in the last six months, this year. Toyota Camry and Prado registered sales of 59 and seven units repectively in June 2005, the statement said. |
