Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group, is planning to add 17 state-of-the-art dealerships to the existing 43 across the country.

This apart, it will also be introducing a new model of vehicle soon, to replace the existing Qualis.

"At present, TKM has 43 dealerships across the country and by the end of this year we are looking at increasing this number to 60, " K K Swamy, deputy managing director, TKM, told media persons on the sidelines of the inauguration of TKM's 43rd dealership in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

"Andhra Pradesh is a very important market for us. Our products like Qualis and Corolla enjoy a good market share of 40 per cent and 30 per cent respectively, in this region. Therefore, we are looking at further increasing this market share by setting up new dealerships," Swamy said.

"During the last fiscal, TKM sold 47,000 vehicles across the country. Our current year's target is 57,000 vehicles and in the next fiscal we intend to touch 66,000 vehicles," he added.

"Within a week's time, TKM will introduce a new model of vehicle to replace Qualis," Swamy said. ""The company, however, will continue providing service to Qualis vehicles for the next ten years according to our previous agreement," Swamy said.
