Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited (TKML), has registered a growth of 36 per cent in sales at 6,835 units in July 2010 compared to 5,007 units sold in July last year. A growth of 69 per cent was recorded for the period January to July 2010, over the same period last year.
Commenting on performance, Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director-Marketing, TKM said, “We are happy with the consistent growth in sales, especially the response that the Corolla Altis Diesel has got since its launch on the 21st of July. We have already received 1,035 bookings in 11 days and have dispatched 620 cars to our dealers across the country."
Bookings for the Fortuner were reopened between the 1st and 31st of July which got the company an additional 3,004 bookings, taking the total number of (remaining) customer orders to over 6,056. The backlog will be cleared by the end of this year, and bookings will reopen again in January 2011, he said.
